This cultural appropriation crap is stupid. Every culture borrows things from other cultures and culture is something that’s constantly changing over time; it’s not something that one specific group of people can own a monopoly on.
As far as I’m concerned it’s just people desperately looking to be offended over something so that they can claim victim hood....

I wanted them. I was all about growing my hair long again getting dreads, because I wanted to do something cool and “hipster”. Well… Fast forward to now? Wouldn’t do it in a million years. Because I’m White, because it’s not just a hairstyle, and because the culture it comes from is not mine and I have no right to steal.

Mitt Romney and Abortion
There are two parts to the abortion issue. One is, at what point does life begin? The other is, who gets to control a woman’s body?
It is honest for those who think that life begins at conception to view all abortions as murder. You may not agree with them, but you should recognize their integrity. On the other hand there are those who say a growing mass of cells does not constitute human...

The religious right is obviously laying the groundwork to outlaw all abortions, even in the cases of rape and incest.

Two lovers Dilemma
Once upon a time there were Laura and Edwin. They loved each other, but they happened to live on the different sides of a big river. They wanted to see each other, but they didn’t have a boat, and the river was too wide to swim. Of course, the river is covered with ice in winter, so they can walk over it, but the winter was so far away! One day Laura couldn’t wait any longer, so she...

The Paul Ryan choice
The choice of Paul Ryan clearly indicates that the GOP has written off the 2012 presidential election. Ryan brings nothing new to the table, he is an fiscal conservative who’s strength is economics, same as Romney. So why pick him as a running mate? The only thing that makes sense is that the GOP Wants to give him some national exposure to help him in a 2016 run for the White House.

Daniel: What determines morality?
Sarah: Conscience.
Daniel: The conscience of a radical islamist brought down the World trade center. Was that moral?
Sarah: He was brainwashed and everyone knows that.
Daniel: Once again, that was his conscience. What's to say that his conscience is wrong and yours is right?
Sarah: No that wasn't his conscience. Whatever conscience he had was brainwashed away by his religious persuasion.
Sarah: Which was fanatacism I might add...
Daniel: Conscience: 1. the inner sense of what is right or wrong in one's conduct or motives, impelling one toward right action; 2. the complex of ethical and moral principles that controls or inhibits the actions or thoughts of an individual. You have to define which is the right conscience: yours or mine or what ever. Everyone has a different conscience.
Daniel: We have many views on morality. Us westerners view what the Islamic world does as evil as they degrade their women, murder those who dont agree with them, murder you for being homosexual. and they look at us as evil because we allow woman to be drive a car, tolerate homosexuals. so who do we determine has right morals?
Sarah: Causing unecessary suffering is not moral, no matter what any religion says. You can't ask me to choose between a religious society's so-called "morals" and a secular society's "morals" because it's not even the same thing. Thankfully our society realizes that religion and government are two different things and you can't use the rules of any given religion to determine your rules for how people live their lives in your society, because that takes away from freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and freedom in general. You can't tell someone else that they are not allowed to do something simply because you believe it to be wrong, especially if they are hurting no one.
Daniel: Your missing the point. The point is who decides who has the right morals? Morals are not moral. They are what we believe to be. So who has the right set of morals?
Sarah: Morality is different than what any individual or religious system may regard as their "morals." No one has 100% correct morals if you want to put it that way. But basic morality, whether it's "all men are created equal," "as it harm none, do as ye will," "do unto others as you would have them do unto you," or however you would like to frame it, is what our basic conscience leads us to do. Whether you want to say God instilled it in us, or as my atheist friends would argue, it's innate, is not really the point. The point is that however we got it, we have it until it is brainwashed out of us by people who want to consider themselves the only "right" ones in the world and need to point out why everyone else is inherently wrong and then convince us that it's our job to point out to everyone else why we are so right and they are so wrong. It's pointless, no one changes their mind, and it leads to division and often bloodshed. And that is clearly not moral by any standards of reason.
I think we have a natural sense of morality. This stems from humans evolving from community animals. Community animals rely on members of the pack to behave in a manor that enhances the wellbeing of the pack. Individual pack members that work well with other pack members in activities such as hunting, defending the pack and raising offspring, get the opportunity to breed and pass along their ‘good’ genes. On the other hand individuals that are anti-social, overly aggressive, or otherwise harmful to the wellbeing of the pack are driven off or killed and do not get a chance to pass along their ‘bad’ genes. Millions of years of this process has given us an instinct to be good community members. We call this instinct our conscience.
Now we take all this inherent moral baggage we have ingrained in us and we form societies. This moral baggage then gets codified in our laws and our religions.
If all this is true, it means that there is no objective source for morality, hence morality is relative.
